25 Healthy Kid-Friendly Snacks

Did you know, August is National Kids Eat Right Month? And as much as we hate to admit it, summer is coming to an end and school is right around the corner. Let's help our kids have a healthy school year. Here are "25 Healthy Snacks for Kids" provided by the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics. When a snack attack strikes, refuel with these nutrition-packed snacks. These snacks are easy, tasty, and healthy kid-friendly snacks. Kiddos, you may need an adult to help with some of these snacks, but others you may be able to make on your own. 1. Parfait: Layer vanilla yogurt and mandarin oranges or blueberries in a tall glass. Whole Wheat Banana Bread... with a Secret Ingredient

I've always loved experimenting in the kitchen, especially when it comes to baking. And of course whenever I have a few overly-ripened bananas, the first thing that pops in my head is "I better make some banana bread soon". However, I don't think I have ever used the same banana bread recipe more than once, until now. This past weekend I experimented with a recipe containing no added fat and very little added sugar (think about 6 g of added sugar per slice). Instead of mixing butter or oil in the batter, this time I used the secret ingredient.... Greek yogurt!
