Generally speaking, proteins and fats take longer to digest than carbohydrates. This allows foods that are high in fats and proteins to help you feel fuller or more satiated for a longer period of time than foods that only contain carbohydrates. For those looking to lose weight or find snacks that keep them fuller throughout the day, I always encourage incorporating snacks containing fats and proteins. This will allow you to feel more satisfied with smaller portions. And as opposed to a snack containing simple carbs like a bag of pretzels or candies, you won't feel hungry shortly after your snack.
